Acupuncture is a 2000-year-old system that is used to balance the flow of energy (qi) in the body. It is especially effective for treatment of any condition that involves pain.
Qi flows in channels or meridians throughout the body. Improper flow, excess or deficiency of qi leads to pain. Needling specific points along the channels restores the free flow of qi. From a Western medicine perspective, acupuncture is thought to enhance the body's resistance and resilience, stimulate the production of natural pain-killers and anti-inflammatories like endorphins and enkephalins.
Chelation therapy is a series of intravenous injections of the synthetic amino aid EDTA, or DMPS designed to detoxify the body. It is also often used to treat heavy metal toxicity and atherosclerosis
Chiropractic uses highly-specialized hands-on techniques which assist your body to heal itself naturally. The manual techniques may include trigger point and other muscle treatments, manual traction, mobilization and manipulation. These techniques help return your spine to optimum health by restoring and maintaining nerve and joint function.

Homeopathic medicine involves the use of specially prepared plant, animal or mineral remedies that stimulate self-healing. It is based on the principle that a substance that could cause particular symptoms in a pharmacological dose can stimulate the body to heal those same symptoms when administered in miniscule dilutions.
Homeopathy can be used to treat any health condition. In prescribing the correct homeopathic remedy, Dr. Badesha constructs a full picture of the individual's mental, emotional, and physical symptoms. There are numerous homeopathic medicines that could be used to treat a particular condition, the art of homeopathy requires a skilled and experienced practitioner.
Intravenous Nutritional Therapy
An intravenous therapy, that delivers vitamins, minerals and amino acids in larger dosages to support the immune system or specific conditions. Intravenous nutrition provides nutrients directly into the blood stream. People who have difficult symptoms and degenerative diseases should be concerned with optimal delivery of nutrients to their cells - where it counts!
If nutrients do not reach the cells, the consequence is that organ, tissues and organ systems will be prevented from healing to their capacity. Although not all symptoms and diseases are caused by nutritional imbalances, most health problems may result in nutritional imbalances by increasing one's nutrient needs or by reduced absorption and/or utilization of nutrients
There are many physical, emotional, nutritional and environmental factors that may impact your health. For example, you may not realize that even if you are under the same amount of stress each day, you will cope with it much better if you are exercising regularly. Or did you know that the rugs in your bedroom may be contributing to your allergy symptoms?
These are just a couple of examples of how your lifestyle can influence your health. At mysportdoctor.com, our goal is to help, not to pass judgment or make you feel guilty. We can coach you on how to make those tough lifestyle changes that can be daunting on your own.
Massage therapy is a hands-on technique that helps to reduce tension, as well as the discomfort of injuries or chronic painful conditions.
Regular treatments lead to improved overall health and well being. Regular massage therapy is recommended for the relief of many conditions including: migraines, carpal tunnel syndrome, strains and sprains, whiplash, high blood pressure, pain from injuries and accidents, arthritis, tendonitis, TMJ, back pain, neck pain, ailments associated with pregnancy and much more.
Therapy can be used to induce a relaxation response in the nervous system that shifts hormones, electrolytes, blood and lymphatic circulation and immune system function toward optimal repair and rejuvenation mode.
Neural Therapy is a form of energy medicine (vibrational medicine) like acupuncture, developed in Germany circa 1930. Injections of local anesthetics into areas of "energy" disturbance are used to relieve pain, immobility, and dysfunction. Injection sites include trigger points or acupoints, scars, and the sites of old fractures or past infection.
Neural therapy energizes "short-circuited" cells and helps to regulate biological energy restoring balance to injured tissues.
Prolotherapy is a non-surgical treatment for damaged ligaments that relieves musculoskeletal pain. An irritant solution is injected into areas where ligaments are weak, triggering the body to heal the injury and thereby naturally strengthen the joint. Prolotherapy is based on the theory that pain is related to sensitive receptors in tendons or ligaments, which are activated by pressure, stretching, and injury. Because ligaments and tendons have a poor blood supply, they often do not heal completely after tearing.
When they do not return to their normal length and strength after an injury, they may become stretched and lax. This causes joints (including the vertebrae) to become unstable, producing excessive rubbing, arthritic changes, and persistent, low-grade pain. The healing mechanisms stimulated by prolotherapy help to restore normal function in weakened joints, allowing the body to relieve the pain by healing itself. The therapy involves injecting a simple solution of concentrated dextrose, saline, or another agent into soft tissues such as ligaments or tendons.
The solution is referred to as a "proliferating agent" because it produces a "proliferation of inflammation" in the injured area. Prolotherapy is effective because inflammation leads to healing. This happens when the body's anti-inflammatory chemicals, called macrophages, rush to respond to the inflammation, stimulating a natural healing response and promoting growth factors in the cells of the affected tendons and ligaments. Connective-tissue-builders called fibroblasts lay down new fibrous tissue wherever they detect damage, while other natural substances trigger the growth of new blood vessels and the flow of nutrients.
The difference between prolotherapy and anti-inflammatory drugs (such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or even cortisone) is that although these medications may relieve pain temporarily, they also block some of the natural chemicals that can repair the underlying damage. In many cases, therefore, an injury never heals completely, and the pain becomes chronic and persistent. Many people with musculoskeletal pain enter a vicious cycle of pain, drugs, more pain, and more drugs.
By contrast, because prolotherapy involves a cycle of controlled inflammation and healing, rather than just temporarily blocking pain sensations, it actually triggers the growth of new tissue, which permanently repairs the joint. With strong, tightened ligaments and tendons, the joint is restabilized, and no longer causes pain.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
Traditional Chinese Medicine is used to balance the flow of energy in the body. As with homeopathy, a complete picture of the patient's condition is constructed. The Chinese syndrome is then assessed and herbs are selected that will address the unique presentation of each individual.
Chinese patent medicines are combinations of herbs that can be extremely effective and economical. However, they can also be contaminated with heavy metals like arsenic, lead and mercury or laced with pharmaceutical drugs. Labelling laws in other countries are not as stringent as they are here in Canada, and so without guidance you may unwittingly be taking acetaminophen, corticosteroids, aspirin etc.
Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger Point Therapy uses sustained deep pressure at tender knotted points that are called trigger points. Many times these points are connected to other painful areas on the body. These are known as referral points. The sustained pressure on the trigger points often results in a "release" which make the patient feel wonderfully relaxed. Likewise these trigger points can be injected with homeopathic medicine or local anesthetics to release pain.
